A Hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) is a configuration used to design, test, and produce complex real-time embedded systems.

In GNSS industry, the hardware-in-the-loop setup consists in simulating in real-time GNSS signals and environment according to a trajectory simulated or replayed by another equipment.
