PNT

Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) are a set of constituent capabilities required to ensure the functioning of critical national infrastructures.

Positioning is the ability to locate assets with precision (latitude, longitude, and if needed, altitude), as well as their orientation.

Navigation is the ability to travel from the current position to the desired one, whether they are located underground, on the surface, in the air, or in space.

Timing is the ability to acquire precise time information from the UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) standard, in order to synchronize activities or processes.

GNSS is a technology enabling the 3 PNT abilities, and therefore the backbone of many operations and services all around the world.
