VOR - VHF Omnidirectional Range

The VOR is a ground-based radio navigation system that allows aircraft to determine their position and follow a precise course. It works by emitting directional radio signals that the aircraft receives with its onboard receiver. Thanks to these signals, the pilot can know the direction of the VOR station and thus navigate or follow a defined trajectory. In a GNSS context, VOR remains a complementary navigation reference, particularly for conventional procedures and redundant safety.
